The US Air Force AFWERX Challenge innovation division selected Intelliwings to exhibit at this week’s AFWERX Challenge Expedient Basing Innovation Showcase at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas on 17 and 18 January 2024. The AFWERX team chose Intelliwings to demo the Repy Board deployable tactical surface board system for potential use by the US Air Force and other government agencies.
Made in partnership with Oohashi Corporation of Japan, Repy Boards enable the rapid establishment of airbase operations at austere locations and in humanitarian relief missions and assistance after natural disasters. Repy boards can be used in a variety of configurations and applications such as roads, aircraft parking areas, helipads, farmlands, field hospitals, warehouses, and safe storage of static-sensitive flammable and volatile materials. Repy Boards are rugged enough to support up to 80MT yet light enough to be lifted by one person.
With more than 33 years of proven reliability in adverse weather such as typhoons and heavy rains, more than 6700 Repy Boards are already being relied on daily by government, defense, and industry users in Japan, Vietnam, and Thailand. And because Repy Boards are made from a proprietary blend of recycled high-density polyethylene, Repy Boards support UN Sustainable Development Goals promoting recycling through its innovative usage of recycled weatherproof electric cable coatings.
AFWERX is a division of the US Air Force responsible for encouraging the development of innovative industry solutions to support US Air Force and US Space Force mission requirements in a rapidly changing world. AFWERX seeks diverse new technology and off-the-shelf systems to rapidly field “agile, affordable, and accelerated” solutions.
