Olivia Ernst

Olivia is a second-year graduate student at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, pursuing an MA in International Relations with a focus on International Economics and Finance. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Dickinson College in 2024 with a BA in Political Science and a Minor in Economics. While at Dickinson, she studied abroad in Bologna, Italy, at the K. Robert Nilsson Center for European Studies. After completing her first year of graduate school in Washington, DC, she returned to Bologna to complete her final year at the SAIS Europe campus.

Through her coursework, she has gained strong research and writing skills as well as proficiency in Stata and Excel. Her research interests are on the intersection of international political economy, energy security, and geopolitics, focusing on how economic policies, trade disputes, and energy dependencies shape global power dynamics. Her regional interests include Europe-US relations, the post-Soviet region, and the Indo-Pacific.
