Linyi Zheng is a graduate student enrolled in the Master of Arts in International Relations program at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, with a focus on international development. She has a Bachelor of Laws degree from Peking University, where she studied international politics. During her junior year, she received the Asia Campus Scholarship and attended Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan, where she pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Global Political Economy.
Her passion for research is evident in her published paper titled “Inventing the Barbarians: The Changing Contexts of Yi in the Late Qing Dynasty” presented at the 2021 4th International Conference on Humanities Education and Social Sciences (ICHESS). The paper was published by Atlantis Press and can be found in their conference proceedings.
In addition to her Chinese mother tongue, she has achieved fluency in both English and Japanese languages, a skill set that has proven invaluable in her academic pursuits and research endeavors. Her linguistic abilities have facilitated her effective communication and collaboration within diverse environments. She also is proficient in Excel, R, and Python and is presently engaged in exploring a range of quantitative research techniques.
